My Shopping Spree

Looking through the many pages of one of these famous magazines, on a beautiful Tuesday morning, I was feeling not only beautiful, but also like I needed to spoil myself with some amazing fashion trends.
I felt it was time I upgraded my style to a style that would sooth my new persona, a style I thought would be best for my new status. I had just bought and furnished my house the previous month and only just changed my both cars the past week. It was indeed a shopping galore for me, like the slogan goes "all new everything"
I had checked out a few make-up products that I liked, alongside a couple of dresses and accessories I thought would match, I had also checked out some bags and nice shoes I felt were lovely enough for me to have.

Of course I made some order on Jumia you know!... I made payments for my first badge of shopping. I was ready for another round of shopping. Just as I flipped to the next page of the magazine I stumble on a picture that insulted my womanhood, what insolence I thought. I had been off the radar for a while, working hard and getting paid while at it, even with all of the fashion blunders I see young ladies commit, it still did not occur to me yet that we were in its time and season, until I stumbled on that picture in the magazine.

My expressions were TOTALLY lost; a cold shiver went down my spine that made it difficult to swallow saliva. I could not find the right words or gesture to replace my feelings.
Unimaginable I thought to myself, I still couldn’t fathom what in the world would push a woman to pose nude in front of a camera, and then sign a contract to share it with the whole inhabitants of PLANET EARTH for an agreed price. Was she that cheap I thought?

I couldn’t find answers. Just when I gave up on thinking, it dawned on me that she was a model. I wasn’t surprised although I was not as excited as I was earlier…I had a thought, if only girls would respect their bodies, but it was the trend? What if those pictures got into the wrong hands before they were published? Or perhaps the other party breached the contract? Wouldn’t it have been worse?
I immediately closed the magazine with displeasure, placed my ATM card in my wallet, picked up my hand bag, took my car keys from the side table where they were staring at me in boredom and drove to church.
